These draft terms describe how TerraExpats is intended to work. They are a working document, not a finalized legal agreement, and they have not yet been reviewed by qualified counsel. Until a final version is approved and an effective date is published, this draft is provided for transparency only.

This document is a working draft and is not legal advice. It must be reviewed by qualified counsel before it becomes binding. Items marked as pending — such as the legal entity and governing law — will be completed before the final version takes effect.

1. What TerraExpats is

TerraExpats is an online discovery marketplace that helps people find and contact businesses and professionals in areas such as real estate, construction, relocation, transportation and healthcare, starting in Costa Rica. TerraExpats is not a real estate agency, contractor, medical provider, law firm or transportation company, and it does not provide the underlying services itself.

2. Accounts

Some features, such as sending inquiries or managing a business profile, require an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential. TerraExpats may suspend accounts that misuse the platform.

3. Business and professional listings

Businesses are responsible for the accuracy, completeness and lawfulness of their profiles, including prices, credentials, licenses and service descriptions. TerraExpats may decline, suspend or remove profiles that are misleading, unlawful or incomplete. Profiles marked as demonstrations are sample content.

4. Verification

A “Verified Business” badge means the TerraExpats team reviewed documents the business submitted. It is not a guarantee of quality, professional competence, licensing status, financial reliability or outcomes, and it does not replace checks you should make yourself. Healthcare organizations may go through a separate administrative review; this does not replace official health-authority licensing or accreditation.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the platform: no unlawful content, no harassment, no scraping or automated data collection, no attempts to access other people's accounts or data, and no false or fraudulent inquiries or listings. Do not submit medical histories, diagnoses or other sensitive health information through marketplace inquiry forms.

6. Inquiries and messages

Inquiries and messages sent through TerraExpats go to the business you chose. Agreements, quotes, prices, schedules and the work itself are arranged directly between you and the business. TerraExpats is not a party to those agreements and is not responsible for their fulfillment.

7. Membership plans

Businesses may subscribe to paid membership plans with the limits and prices shown on the pricing page at the time of purchase. Plan features and prices may change for future subscriptions; changes do not alter subscriptions already purchased.

8. Payments

Online payments are not yet enabled on TerraExpats. When they are, payment terms, billing cycles and any taxes will be shown before you confirm a purchase. This section will be updated when payments launch.

9. Cancellations and refunds

Cancellation and refund terms for memberships will be published before paid subscriptions become available. Until then, no charges are made through the platform.

10. Disputes between users and businesses

TerraExpats is not responsible for disputes between customers and businesses, and does not mediate, arbitrate or guarantee outcomes. If you have a problem with a business, contact the business directly. You may report a listing to TerraExpats for review.

11. Intellectual property

The TerraExpats name, logo, design and platform content belong to TerraExpats or its licensors. Businesses retain ownership of the content they submit but grant TerraExpats the right to display it on the platform. You may not copy or reuse platform content without permission.

12. Privacy

How TerraExpats collects and uses personal information is described in the Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy is part of these terms.

13. Liability

TerraExpats provides the platform “as is” and does not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, TerraExpats is not liable for the acts, omissions, work, prices or services of the businesses listed, nor for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the platform.
